Standard & Certified Punjabi Translation Services
Punjabi is a member of the Indo-Aryan languages family, spoken by inhabitants of the historical Punjab region (north western India and in north eastern Pakistan). For Sikhs, the Punjabi language stands as the official language, in Pakistan it is the most spoken language. There are 88 million native speakers of the Punjabi language, which makes it approximately the 12th most widely spoken language in the world.
Generally, two types of Punjabi language translation exist - written and oral, which is also known as Interpretation.
The written Punjabi language translation could be either a certified Punjabi translation or a Standard Punjabi translation. Certified translation is normally used when dealing with Authorities, Standard translation is the most common and inexpensive.
Punjabi Language interpretation is an oral translation. It can be either simultaneous - when the interpreter renders the message in the target-language as quickly as possible, while the source-language speaker continually speaks; or consecutive - the interpreter speaks, after the source-language speaker has finished speaking.
Translations also can be divided by gender i.e. Medical Punjabi language translation, Technical Punjabi language translation, Legal Punjabi language translation, Artistic/Literary Punjabi language translation, Punjabi translation of documents, Punjabi general language translation and etc.
One of the more interesting facts about the Punjabi language is that whilst it is numerically the most widely spoken, in Pakistani Punjab, it is hardly written at all. Punjabi is most often written in East Punjab in the Gurmukhi script.
